“Dhow” is used loosely in listings. If you want the traditional timber boat rather than a modern hull dressed to look like one, these are the questions that settle it.
A dhow is a traditional wooden vessel, usually with an enclosed lower deck and an open upper deck. In practice, boats sold as dhow cruises range from genuinely traditional timber craft to modern hulls finished in a traditional style. That difference shows up in the interior, the deck layout, the noise and the feel of the evening — and it is rarely stated in a listing, so you have to ask.
